Press Release – Lewis Anderson-Freeman

PRESS RELEASE

David F. Cross, Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Brooke County, West Virginia, advises the press that:

Lewis E. Anderson Freeman, who was born on the 30th day of January, 1993, with an address of 1069 Wilson Avenue, Steubenville, Ohio, 43952, pled guilty to the felony offense of “Sexual Abuse by a Custodian” as set forth in Count One of the Indictment in Case 19-F-55. The Court sentenced the Defendant to serve not less than ten (10) nor more than twenty (20) years in the Division of Corrections and the Defendant was immediately remanded to serve the sentence following his guilty plea.

The Defendant will be required to be placed on supervised release for a period of twenty-five (25) years following the completion of the sentence imposed upon him and will be required to register for life as a sex offender.

The charges against Mr. Freeman stemmed from an incident that occurred on the 12th day of April, 2019, at a residence in Weirton, Brooke County, West Virginia, when he had sexual contact with the sex organ of a 9 year old child who he was supervising at the time.

The charges against Mr. Freeman stemmed from an investigation completed by Senior Trooper C.Z. Thompson of the Wellsburg Detachment of the West Virginia State Police. The case was prosecuted by David F. Cross, Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Mr. Freeman was represented by Attorney Sean Logue. The case was presided over by the Honorable Judge Ronald E. Wilson.
