John Kyle

John Kyle– Assistant Brooke County Prosecuting Attorney

John Kyle has been an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Brooke County, West Virginia since 2013. John began his law enforcement career by serving 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve as a military policeman. John graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice and received his law degree from Ohio Northern University Law School. He then worked as an Ohio County, West Virginia Deputy Sheriff performing road patrol, and serving as court bailiff, school resource officer, and on the Special Response Team. He worked as a patrolman and then as Chief of Police for the Town of West Liberty, West Virginia and still occasionally works for the West Liberty University Police Department.

He started his legal career as a law clerk for Judge Arthur Recht and then entered private practice before working as a prosecutor.

Outside of practicing law, John is an airplane owner and holds a commercial pilot certificate and flight instructor certificate with instrument and multiengine privileges. John also has studied judo and currently trains in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
